Dong Thap suspends receiving visitors to Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site

On February 12, Ms. Vo Thi Tuyet Ngoa, Director of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site in Ward 4, Cao Lanh City, the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, said that the relic site will temporarily suspend receiving visitors for restoration.

Accordingly, the temporary suspension will start from February 2025 until further notice. All areas of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site will temporarily suspend receiving visitors.

The project of restoration, embellishment and promotion of value at the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site is expected to be completed in August 2025.

The relic site is the resting place of Second Best Examinee Nguyen Sinh Sac (1862-1929), a Confucian scholar who devoted his life to the country and the people. He is the father of President Ho Chi Minh. He passed away in 1929 in Dong Thap.

Construction of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site began in 1975 and completed two years later.

The site, recognized as the national cultural and historical relic in 1992 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The area now comprises Nguyen Sinh Sac’s tomb, an exhibition house of his life and cause, a flower garden, an Uncle Ho house on stilts, a lotus pond and a corner of Hoa An Village where the late president’s farther treated diseases for the poor and passed away./.
