On February 11, at Loc Bac Commune, the People’s Committee of Bao Lam District (Lam Dong Province) held the launch ceremony for the 2025 Tree Planting Festival.

Recognizing that tree planting, forest care, and protection are essential political tasks, Bao Lam District successfully planted 1,249,106 trees of various kinds in 2024, reaching 100.1% of the target set by the province. This included 190 hectares of concentrated forest plantations, equivalent to 48,000 trees; 91,376 trees planted along roads, in public spaces, residential areas, and on rehabilitated bauxite mining land; 749,000 trees planted for agricultural production, scattered reforestation, and forest enrichment
Since 2021, Bao Lam District has planted over 5 million trees, achieving 102.06% of the province’s assigned target and successfully completing its goal of planting 5 million trees (2021-2025) one year ahead of schedule.
Currently, local forest management units have allocated 69,722 hectares of forest for contracted protection and have distributed over VND12.5 billion in forest environmental service payments to 2,607 households and two collective organizations.
Building on these achievements, in 2025, Bao Lam District aims to plant over 300,000 trees while maintaining its forest coverage rate above 54.56%.
Speaking at the event, Dong Van Truong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bao Lam District, urged local Party committees, authorities, agencies, and forest management units to intensify public awareness campaigns through various methods, ensuring that residents, youth union members, and association members fully understand the purpose and significance of the Tree Planting Festival. He also emphasized the crucial role and benefits of planting, nurturing, and protecting forests./.
