The Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site is the final resting place of Nguyen Sinh Sac, a patriotic scholar and the father of President Ho Chi Minh. Dong Thap Province has carefully preserved the site, maintaining the solemn worship rituals at the tomb and developing it into a national-level historical and cultural complex covering more than 9 hectares. Two of its most prominent structures are President Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House and the Exhibition House on President Ho Chi Minh.

According to Vo Thi Tuyet Ngoa, Director of the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site, the site has become a deeply meaningful destination for historical education, closely tied to the life and career of Nguyen Sinh Sac and President Ho Chi Minh, while also incorporating the region’s cultural heritage.

The Stilt House was constructed in February 1990 and inaugurated on May 19, 1990. The model of President Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House in Dong Thap carries two symbolic meanings, including bringing President Ho Chi Minh closer to his father’s tomb, fulfilling the heartfelt wishes of the people of Dong Thap; and providing Southerners who cannot travel to Hanoi with the opportunity to visualize how President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked.

The stilt house model in Dong Thap was built at a 1:1 scale, replicating the original design, dimensions, and artifacts of President Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House in Hanoi.

For the past 34 years, this model has stood as a source of pride not only for the people of Dong Thap – the Land of the Pink Lotus but also for the Southern people of Vietnam. Beyond its sacred symbolism—representing the South’s deep remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh—the site has become a tourist attraction, a highlight in the “Return to the Roots” journey, and a “red address” for educating younger generations, especially youth union members, about President Ho Chi Minh’s legacy.

Every year, the Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site welcomes over 200,000 visitors who come to pay respects, tour the Exhibition House, and explore President Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House. During President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday celebration in 2024, visitors had the chance to explore the 600-square-meter Exhibition House on President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese Revolution. This space features over 200 photographs and artifacts across six themed sections, systematically showcasing President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary journey alongside Vietnam’s historical milestones./.
