This initiative responds to the Prime Minister’s call to plant one billion trees over the five-year period from 2021 to 2025 under the “For a Green Vietnam” program, aligns with Vietnam's commitment at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), and supports the Group’s Climate Change Action Program. It also follows the call from the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thai Binh Province to ensure environmental sanitation and promote the “Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh” during Lunar New Year 2025. The goal is to establish a “Green – Clean – Beautiful” landscape for the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant.

Currently, the total number of trees planted within the Plant’s area—including fruit trees, shade trees, and dust-blocking trees—has reached approximately 12,000.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Directors, Mr. Dinh Van Ngoc, Chairman of the Trade Union and Deputy Director of the Plant, emphasized: "Planting trees and protecting the environment are becoming increasingly important as environmental pollution and global climate change pose significant challenges, impacting socio-economic development and the quality of life. The growth of greenery plays a crucial role in nature conservation, biodiversity protection, and environmental improvement. It helps mitigate the effects of natural disasters, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and enhances climate change adaptation while promoting sustainable national development."

Representing the employees and youth union members of the Plant, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, a member of the Youth Union of Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant, expressed his support and called on all employees and union members to actively participate in planting, nurturing, and protecting trees.

"The 'Tree Planting Festival,' initiated by President Ho Chi Minh in 1959, is a deeply meaningful activity with humanitarian, political, economic, and environmental benefits," he stated./.
