The 2024 Lunar New Year is truly meaningful to Mr. Dieu Kho in Thuan Tien hamlet, Thuan Loi commune, Dong Phu district. Because this is the first year he has had a warm and complete Tet in a newly built house. Mr. Dieu Kho is an ethnic minority youth in difficult circumstances. Understanding his situation, Dong Phu District Youth Union has called on and connected with the Economic Police Department Youth Union, Provincial Police and Binh Phuoc Lottery and General Services Company Limited to support his family with 80 million VND to complete the solid house.

Mr. Dieu Kho shared: “I thank the benefactors and Dong Phu District Youth Union for giving my family a decent home to stabilize our lives. I will work hard to develop my family's economy.”

Welcoming us to his new house, Mr. Le Ngo Nhat Sang, residing in Suoi Nhung Hamlet, Tan Hung Commune, Dong Phu District, thanked the benefactors and youth forces for their attention, help, and material and spiritual support so that his family could have a solid house. The house was built with a total area of 83m2, costing 140 million VND. Of which, the Provincial Development Investment Fund supported 80 million VND, the rest was contributed by the family to make the house more spacious.

From 2023 to present, the District Youth Union has built and handed over 3 youth houses, repaired 1 friendship house for disadvantaged youth union members in Tan Hung, Dong Tam, Thuan Loi and Tan Tien communes with a total cost of nearly 300 million VND. The new houses demonstrate the affection and responsibility of the Youth Union in caring for and educating young people, especially helping disadvantaged youth union members continue to strive to improve their lives.

In addition to connecting to build and repair houses, in recent times, volunteer activities for community life have been widely deployed by Dong Phu youth in many forms, with rich and diverse content, suitable to local conditions.

From 2023 to present, the Youth Union from the district to the grassroots level has given nearly 200 gifts; medical examination, free medicine for more than 320 people in difficult circumstances in the area; awarded 110 scholarships, 25 bicycles to students who have overcome difficulties to study well; awarded more than 1,000 gifts to disabled children, children in difficult circumstances; awarded more than 120 million VND to accompany children to school in Thach Mang hamlet, Tan Loi commune.

Many volunteer activities for community life and social security of Dong Phu District Youth Union have a strong influence, becoming annual and voluntary activities of each youth union member. Notable are the movements of Volunteer Saturday, Green Sunday, anti-plastic waste...

Accordingly, the Youth Union bases regularly organize cleaning; renovate the premises of the office, memorial house, martyr cemetery; plant more than 1,500 trees; dismantle advertising billboards; launch the "Useful Trash Can" model; donate the Youth Trash Can project; organizing activities such as “The 2nd Journey of Tires”; organizing the contest “Dong Phu Youth Join Hands to Protect the Environment”…

It can be seen that the exciting and meaningful activities carried out by Dong Phu youth have affirmed the youth’s enthusiasm, volunteerism, and always taking the lead in difficult and new tasks. Community activities not only attract a large number of cadres and youth union members to participate, but also receive the attention and support of local Party committees, authorities and people, creating a positive social effect. Thereby contributing to spreading and educating young people about compassion and the spirit of sharing for the community./.
