The President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site is located on a flat, shady land, in the middle of a charming midland countryside, in Zone 12, Van Xuan Commune (formerly Co Tiet Commune), Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province. The 2,780m2 memorial site includes structures such as a welcome gate, a memorial house, and the house of Mr. Hoang Van Nguyen, where Uncle Ho lived from March 4 to March 17, 1947, on the way to the Viet Bac resistance base. The memorial house began construction in 1994 and was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 1995.

According to historical documents recorded in the book “Uncle Ho with Phu Tho, Phu Tho follows Uncle Ho’s words” (National Political Publishing House, 2005), on the night of December 19, early morning of December 20, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh issued a call for national resistance. On March 4, 1947, he left Ha Tay province and set foot on Phu Tho land on his way to the Viet Bac base.

The first place he came to Phu Tho province was Co Tiet commune, Tam Nong district. In Co Tiet, he stayed with two families in two hamlets: Ghenh hamlet (Ba Trieu) and Doi hamlet. During his stay here, Uncle Ho spent time reading Vietnamese history (the book Vietnamese History Summary), studying the fighting style of national heroes Tran Hung Dao, Le Loi, Quang Trung.

For the comrades serving in Van Xuan commune, the great honor was that Uncle Ho named each person in the following order: "Truong - Ky - Khang - Chien - Nhat - Dinh - Thang - Loi". During his time in Van Xuan, Uncle Ho compiled many important documents, decrees, and telegrams such as the Letter to "Compatriots nationwide" after the French attacked the areas around Hanoi; Letter to remind everyone to help compatriots evacuate to their localities; Letter to "The French National Assembly and People" presenting the truth about the Vietnam issue on the occasion of the upcoming French National Assembly meeting to discuss Vietnam; Responding to interviews with Vietnamese journalists about his opinion on the "Declaration of French Prime Minister Ramadiere"; Decree 29/SL consisting of 10 chapters, 187 articles, regulating the relationship between employers (Vietnamese or foreigners) and Vietnamese workers in factories, mines, trading posts and freelancers.

The Ho Chi Minh President Memorial Site in Van Xuan Commune is a historical and cultural relic marking the image of Uncle Ho in the hearts of the people of Phu Tho, a "red address" educating the tradition of patriotism, national pride, expressing the sacred feelings of compatriots, comrades and soldiers towards beloved Uncle Ho./.
