The event was attended by Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh.
After just two months of rapid construction, Phung Khoang Park has officially been completed and opened to serve residents, adding a new green space to the urban area of Nam Tu Liem District.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee Mai Trong Thai emphasized that tree planting plays an extremely important role, especially in the context of severe environmental pollution and global climate change affecting society and people's lives.
Alongside promoting industrialization, modernization, and urbanization, environmental protection and ecosystem conservation are crucial to ensuring sustainable development and safeguarding people's well-being.
He called on all Party committees, authorities, agencies, and social-political organizations to extensively promote the purpose and significance of the Tree Planting Festival through various means. He highlighted the great role, profound benefits, long-term value, and humanitarian significance of tree planting.
"On this occasion, I urge all officials, Party members, youth union members, students, and residents to actively participate in the tree-planting movement. Each person should plant at least one tree and take care of it so that it thrives and brings long-term benefits. Let us turn this action into a regular and continuous movement—a meaningful effort that contributes to making Nam Tu Liem District brighter, greener, cleaner, and more beautiful," Mr. Thai emphasized./.
