The Mekong Delta province of An Giang’s youth have planted more than 8,000 trees in response to the peak period of the Tet tree planting festival, in eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho.
The Thoai Son District Youth Union awarded 10 scholarships to students.
The An Giang Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in coordination with the Vietnam Youth Federation has launched the Tet planting festival in eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho and the movement “An Giang children do a thousand good deeds” in 2023.
In his speech at the event, Mr. Do Minh Sang, Deputy Secretary of the An Giang provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, shared that in Spring of 1960, responding to Uncle Ho’s call, the Tet tree planting festival was held for the first time in our country.
Also at the ceremony, the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation awarded 15 full scholarships, each worth 5 million VND, and 37 scholarships with a total amount of 93.5 million VND, to support students in districts, towns and cities in the province.
On this occasion, the Thoai Son District Youth Union also awarded 10 scholarships of 500,000 VND each to poor students with good academic performance in the district.
After the launch ceremony, delegates, union members and youth participated in planting more than 8,000 trees on a 2.5km road route in Phu Tay hamlet, Phu Thuan commune, Thoai Son district./.
