We came to the embroidery workshop of Mrs. Dinh Thi Phuong, hamlet 8, Hai Cuong commune, Hai Hau district, on a hot summer morning and witnessed the cheerful and urgent working atmosphere of the women in the workshop. For them, Ms. Phuong's embroidery workshop is not only a place to create jobs but also a place to "confide" and share the joys and sorrows in life. Knowing the embroidery profession, 12 years ago through a familiar source, Ms. Phuong "made a connection" with Dung Thanh Company in Nam Dinh city to embroider kasari on the legs of sword-fighting armor for export to markets in Korea, Japan, and England.

Sharing the reason for opening the embroidery workshop, Ms. Phuong said that after signing the contract with Dung Thanh Company, she decided to open the workshop even though at that time, she was quite old.

The Women's Union of Phuc Thang commune, Nghia Hung district, currently has 2,078 members, operating in 11 branches. In emulation to follow Uncle Ho, the Commune Women's Union has focused on "following" with emulation movements and Union work programs such as "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families", "Training the qualities of Vietnamese women: self-confidence - self-respect - loyalty - responsibility", "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's"; participating in building new rural areas; women with activities for social security...; Building and replicating many good and creative models and practices following Uncle Ho's example, including "Women help each other develop the economy", "Raising piggy banks to save", "Fund for poor women", "Women's Association saves to participate in buying health insurance cards - for family health", "Collecting plastic waste from the sea to the shore, turning waste into money".

Implementing social security activities, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, the Women's Association of the commune visited and presented 52 gifts to families of poor women members, those in especially difficult circumstances, sick people, and lonely elderly people, worth 15.6 million VND; 100% of the associations mobilized members to support the establishment of the "For poor women" fund, with a minimum support level of 5,000 VND/member; supporting the "Hoang Ngan" Scholarship Fund with an amount of over 10 million VND.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the Commune Women's Union also carries out many activities to support members, especially poor women, to develop the economy, create jobs, increase income, and improve their lives. Every year, the Commune Women's Union reviews the number of poor and near-poor households headed by women to develop appropriate support plans in terms of capital and seeds; and develops plans to help 1-2 households escape poverty according to multidimensional criteria.

Up to now, the Commune Women's Union has received over 24 billion VND from banks and credit institutions to lend 647 households. From the loan capital, many women in the commune have boldly transformed the economic structure, applied scientific and technical advances in livestock breeding, growing crops, flowers, ornamental plants, aquaculture, seafood, etc., bringing in high incomes and creating jobs for many local workers, most of whom are women.

It can be affirmed that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style has contributed to spreading a beautiful lifestyle and meaningful work; helping female union members in the whole province to raise their awareness of self-cultivation and training. Since then, many typical advanced examples have been recognized and rewarded. For many consecutive years, the Women's Union of Phuc Thang commune and Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong have been recognized by authorities at all levels and the Women's Union. In 2023, the Women's Union of Phuc Thang commune received a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in the work of the Union and the women's movement from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union./.
