Son Tra district launches “Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho”

At the launch ceremony, the Organizing Committee planted 25 oil palm trees and 15 American palm trees at Bui Huy Bich Park. These trees were reused after being relocated from the project to renovate Ngo Quyen Street and Ngu Hanh Son Street. On this occasion, Nai Hien Dong Ward planted 430 sesame, rosewood, black star, black cho and rai trees at schools and in residential areas.

Aiming to implement the project of planting one billion trees in 2021-2025, in Son Tra district, in recent years, the district has mobilized organizations and individuals to contribute trees and participate in planting and caring for trees to grow better and to protect the ecological environment, improve the landscape, respond to climate change, contribute to socio-economic development, and improve the quality of life for people.

In addition, the district also mobilized units and enterprises to sponsor 100 coconut trees to plant along the beach of Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap road according to the supplementary plan; newly planted and additionally plant 3,479 coconut trees along the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Nguyen Tat Thanh coastal route to protect the coast, prevent erosion, and create a friendly and harmonious living environment for local people and tourists./.
