The successful August Revolution and the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945 were great revolutionary achievements and important milestones in the journey for national founding and safeguarding.

That revolutionary achievement stems from the tradition of patriotism, compassion and especially the spirit of great solidarity and great strength of the Vietnamese people. Uncle Ho affirmed that in the resistance war to build the nation, the main force is in the people. Uncle Ho always put absolute faith in the people.

He once wrote that thanks to the great unity of the whole nation, for centuries, the Vietnamese people have defended their independence and freedom.

In 1941, the Viet Minh Front was established, then immediately gathered and united all forces in society, regardless of unions, ethnicity, class or religion. All worked together towards a common goal to fight the Japanese fascists and French colonialists, making Vietnam completely independent.

This was a very wise policy of the Party Central Committee and leader Nguyen Ai Quoc at that time, which held an important meaning: to gather the strength of the great national unity, and was a key factor to develop the revolutionary movement for national liberation, culminating in the victory of the August Revolution in 1945, which led to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945.

After the victory of the August Revolution, the young Vietnamese State faced many unprecedented challenges, especially economic exhaustion. Once again, President Ho Chi Minh and the Party raised the banner of great national unity, bringing into play the strength of the whole people.

The great revolutionary achievements of the autumn of 1945 were both a lesson and affirmation of the spirit of great national unity. As President Ho Chi Minh repeatedly emphasized that unity is our invincible force to overcome difficulties and win; and that unity is strength and the key to success./.
