Uncle Ho relic site in Laos upgraded

On April 9, in Savannakhet province (Central Laos), a ground-breaking ceremony took place to embellish the historical site of President Ho Chi Minh in the Lao province.

The construction was donated by Ho Chi Minh City to Savannakhet province and the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum Department (Laos).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the restoration and embellishment of President Ho Chi Minh historic site in Savannakhet province is a meaningful activity of great importance to the two governments of Vietnam and Laos. “It also reflects the deep concern, trust and expectation of the people of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as those loving and respecting President Ho Chi Minh, who have been contributing and will contribute to building and cultivating the true brotherhood, sincere friendship, faithful comradeship, loyalty and exemplary and pure solidarity between Vietnam and Laos,” he added.

The project has a total investment of more than VND60 billion and has been assigned to the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City as an investor.

The historical site of President Ho Chi Minh in Savannakhet province was built in 2013. Currently, some locations have downgraded.

This restoration aims to ensure aesthetics, as well as improve the quality of the infrastructure of the relic site, and enhance the historical, political and heritage traditions of the special relationship of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the two peoples of Laos and Vietnam./.
