Ms Michelle Bachelet expressed her admiration for the indomitable and resilient spirit of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for national independence and achievements in national construction. In particular, President Ho Chi Minh is a symbol in the hearts of peace-loving people around the world. Therefore, Chile will support the implementation of the “Vietnam - Chile Memory” project in Cerro Navia and rehabilitating the Ho Chi Minh Park.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, after his visit to Chile in September 2022, the provincial leaders had specific reports and proposals on supporting the rehabilitation of Ho Chi Minh Park in Cerro Navia district, and its potentials and orientations in trade cooperation and investment promotion with Chile.

On this occasion, former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet and leaders of Binh Duong province witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on support for the rehabilitation of the Ho Chi Minh Park between the Binh Duong Department of Construction and the Cerro Navia municipality.

After the signing ceremony, it is expected that in April 2023, the delegation of Binh Duong province will visit Chile and discuss in detail supporting the rehabilitation of Ho Chi Minh Park and exploring opportunities for trade and investment cooperation promotion in Chile.

In 1969, the people of Cerro Navia district named a park in the district Ho Chi Minh Park to commemorate and honor President Ho Chi Minh and expressed solidarity for the struggle for Vietnamese people's national liberation.

Over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh Park has become a living proof of the friendship between the people of Vietnam and Chile./.
