Contest about Uncle Ho for overseas Vietnamese teenagers and youth in Thailand

The contest was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese and Overseas Vietnamese Associations in Thailand.

The award ceremony was held in Nakhon Phanom province on May 19th.

Most of the entries were written in Vietnamese, with some written in both Vietnamese and Thai.

Those who won the two first prizes were honoured with certificates of merit from Mr Nguyen Hong Nam, Deputy Minister and the Chairman of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese, and invited to come to Vietnam to attend the Vietnam Summer Camp 2017 or join the overseas Vietnamese teenager and youth delegation to visit Vietnam.

The three second prizes were a pair of Thailand - Vietnam round-trip tickets sponsored by Vietjet Air, and souvenirs from the Vietnamese Embassy.

The five third prize-winners were presented certificates of merit, round-trip Thailand - Vietnam tickets and gifts from the Consulate General of Vietnam.

The first ever contest on Uncle Ho lured a large number of overseas Vietnamese teenagers and youth, and promoting emulation movements of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's moral example, in which especially five things Uncle Ho teach teenagers and children.

It actively contributes to preserving and promoting the Vietnamese cultural identity, creating more motivation for the movement of teaching and learning Vietnamese language, which is strongly developing among overseas Vietnamese in Thailand./.
