Over the past days, not only Vietnamese people but also international friends across the world have organized diverse activities to mark the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh - a great personality, a great man of culture, and a national liberation revolutionary who brought independence and freedom to Vietnam and who always worked hard to cultivate friendship between the Vietnamese people and nations in the world.

The love and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh was respectfully expressed by the Vietnamese community and Hungarian friends in the recent flower offering and tree planting ceremony at the park where the President Ho Chi Minh Monument is located in Zalaegerszeg city, Hungary.
During the ceremony, Mr. Góra Balázs, President of the Social Party, Zalaegerszeg Branch, emotionally reviewed the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, an indomitable Vietnamese spirit who dedicated his life to the cause of independence, national freedom and peace in the world. He emphasized that Uncle Ho’s saying, "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", engraved on the monument is the truth of all times, and affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh left a great legacy in many aspects, for Vietnam and human progress.
With affection and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, Dr. Botz László, President of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association, expressed pride when members of the Hungarian delegation joined the International Commission for Supervision and Control on the armistice in Vietnam (ICCS) in the period 1973-1975, contributing to realize Uncle Ho's wish and goal of national liberation and reunification. He affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Hungary in 1957 laid a solid foundation for the good friendship between the two peoples.
Touched by the affections of the Hungarian government and friends, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary and Croatia Nguyen Thi Bich Thao said that with affection and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, the Hungarian country and people have presented a very special gift for the country and people of Vietnam, that is the Monument of President Ho Chi Minh. This is not only a masterpiece of culture and art, but also a vivid symbol of the long-standing traditional friendship between Vietnam and Hungary. The Ambassador sincerely thanked the authorities and people of Zalaegerszeg city, close friends of Vietnam, for their attention and support and for taking care of and preserving the Uncle Ho Monument.
She expressed her pleasure that the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary is constantly developing well, and wished to further strengthen cooperation with Zalaegerszeg city in particular and Hungary in general in the future in economic, cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Following Uncle Ho's teaching "Spring is the tree-planting festival", Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao and other delegates planted two cherry blossom trees to embellish the park's landscape where Uncle Ho's statue is located, with the desire that Uncle Ho's Monument will be a contemplation point for the people of Zalaegerszeg city and forever a beautiful symbol of the Vietnam-Hungary traditional friendship./.
