The launching ceremony, held by the Chi Minh City's Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, was attended by over 40 overseas Vietnamese from Belgium, France, Germany, Russia, US, Australia, Taiwan and Japan. The delegation of overseas Vietnamese raised funds to buy 600 white-flowered black mangrove trees, worth 60 million VND, and directly participated in planting them in Can Gio mangrove forest.
The delegation's participation in afforestation makes a practical contribution to the restoration of the green lung of the city, protecting the living environment, and at the same time helping to improve the overall ecosystem.
Every year, the Chi Minh City's Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs organizes the launching ceremony of the tree planting festival for the overseas Vietnamese community living in the city to join in planting trees in response to the call of Uncle Ho./.
