Sharing about this special cultural space, Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai, Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, said that after its inauguration, the project will be a place for the Vietnamese community abroad and the young generation of overseas Vietnamese to explore, research, learn and experience the cultural, historical and ideological heritage of President Ho Chi Minh associated with overseas Vietnamese work.

This is also a "meeting point" and a bridge to support overseas Vietnamese workers in learning, researching and disseminating Ho Chi Minh's culture and ideology to the overseas Vietnamese community around the world.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Huynh Mai, there are currently an estimated 2.8 million Vietnamese people living abroad with connections to Ho Chi Minh City out of a total of about 6 million Vietnamese people living and working abroad in 130 countries and territories in the world.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has attracted more than 400 overseas Vietnamese experts to return home to cooperate and teach in universities and research institutes. According to incomplete statistics, in 2023 alone, Ho Chi Minh City was the top locality in the country in attracting remittances, reaching USD9.5 billion.

"Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space - Meeting point for overseas Vietnamese" is also a practical project to celebrate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2024), the 113th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - 2024) and the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City (June 8, 1981 - 2024)./.
