Hanoi Women’s Union aunches tree-planting festival

The program to respond to the tree-planting festival aims to express gratitude and memory to the great President Ho Chi Minh, the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the Fatherland, and at the same time show the determination of the officers and members of the capital’s women to join hands with the Party Committee, government and people of the city to build a green, rich, beautiful, civilized and modern capital.

In her speech at the launch ceremony, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women’s Union Le Kim Anh called on all officers, members and all classes of women in the city and their families to actively participate in planting and taking care of trees; at the same time, raise awareness of environmental protection; actively contributing to the construction of new-style rural areas and civilized city.

Right after the launch ceremony, the delegates joined a tree planting ceremony at the President Ho Chi Minh relic site at Da Chong hill. Earlier, they offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Memorial House.

Within the framework of the program, the City Women’s Union also commended and awarded 10 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in a special emulation to welcome the 13th National Women's Congress; and awarded prizes to the winners a song composing contest to celebrate the success of the 16th City Women’s Congress./.
