Fine art plays important role in Ho Chi Minh cultural space

The seminar gathered the participation of many experts in the field of culture and art, artists, sculptors, architects, designers, and those in the field of planning and urban management in HCMC, provinces and cities across the country.

At the seminar, the delegates discussed, contributed ideas and proposed solutions on the concepts related to public art and Ho Chi Minh cultural space; and the importance of public art within the process of building Ho Chi Minh cultural space. Delegates also mentioned the situation of sculptural, painting, art works applied in public spaces and solutions associated with Ho Chi Minh cultural space.

Emphasizing the value of art in building Ho Chi Minh cultural space, Chairman of HCMC Fine Arts Association Nguyen Xuan Tien said that outdoor art is an indispensable element in the public cultural space of HCMC, and it is also an important highlight in the overall building of Ho Chi Minh cultural space under the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the HCMC Party Committee (term 2020-2025).

Also at the seminar, experts want Ho Chi Minh's cultural space to be specific to HCMC.

Many delegates said that in order to develop the Ho Chi Minh cultural space associated with fine art, it is necessary to complete mechanisms and policies to manage and complete the master plan map of works and fine arts works in the city's public cultural space; formulating legal policies to create a synchronous coordination between art - architecture - planning and relevant industries.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Day of Southern Liberation and National Reunification in 2025, Mr. Tien proposed HCMC leaders re -implement the project on building a Unified Monument at the Hoang Van Thu Park.

This will be a meaningful gift on the great occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Day of Southern Liberation and National Reunification of the country, and also contribute significantly to the construction of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space.

Besides, artworks not only beautify public cultural space, but also bring new vitality./.
