To support poor families to welcome Tet, the High Command of the Military Zone No. 5 has prepared VND350 million and 700 presents for remote residents. Clothes, blankets, books and essential facilities have been mobilized to give to revolutionary contributors, poor families, ethnic minority, and poor pupils with excellent academic results.

Agencies under the zone have also mobilised nearly 20 tons of rice and thousands of presents to allocate to people in border and island areas.

In 2017, as thousands of families in central localities fell into disadvantaged circumstances, over VND3 billion has been earmarked by the zone to provide presents to poor people and revolutionary contributors, construct 28 charitable houses and repair three pre-schools.

The assistance has been carried out thanks to donations from soldiers, their relatives, agencies, schools, companies, businesses, organizations and individuals.

Not only supporting social welfare work, the activities help the zone’s soldiers to practice thrift in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology./.
