On January 13th, a ceremony was held in Ha Nam province to mark six decades since President Ho Chi Minh visited the province.
The event was attended by Politburo member Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, and Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and ministries, branches.
On January 14th, 1958, the Ha Nam provincial Party members and people were honoured to welcome Uncle Ho to visit and attend the province’s anti-drought reviewing conference.
During the event, Uncle Ho praised the provincial Party members’, the army’s and local resident’s irrigation initiatives to fight drought.
After the meeting, Uncle Ho also visited the construction site of Cat Tuong historical relic in An Hoa commune (An My commune now), Binh Luc district. He presented the flag “Best drought prevention” to Binh Luc district which helped save local rice fields from drought.
He also visited a local convalescence center for wounded soldiers and sent best regards to other wounded soldiers being cared in the locality.
On this occasion, the Cat Tuong historical site was recognised as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Besides, the Ha Nam provincial Party Committee also presented 60 organisations and individuals for their outstanding efforts in following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example in 2017.
Mr. Tran Duc Thuan, Head of the Ha Nam provincial Party Committee Commission of Popularization and Education at a press conference, emphasized the importance of the ceremony, saying that it would be a chance for local cadres, Party members and people to express their gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and to further study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morals and lifestyle, contributing to local development./.
