Mr. Uong Chu Luu, member of the Party Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, met a delegation of officials and employees from Ho Chi Minh City going to Hanoi to report their achievements to Uncle Ho on August 30th.

At the meeting, Ms. Tran Kim Yen, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour, said that over the past time trade unions at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City have launched many emulation movements, promoting many innovative initiatives to bring benefit to their units.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has over 19,000 grassroots trade unions with more than 1.3 million union members in all fields and industries. Every year, over 3,000 workers directly engaged in production are admitted to the Party.
At the meeting, representatives of outstanding employees sent their suggestions and aspirations to the leaders of the Party and State, with the desire of having more supportive policies to create conditions for them to study and improve their knowledge and skills.
Mr. Uong Chu Luu said that the Party and State always emphasized the role of the working class and had many policies to ensure the material and spiritual life of employees. He also highly appreciated the activities of the Ho Chi Minh trade unions for protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly expected the individuals, who won the Ton Duc Thang Award, to have many initiatives to benefit their units, helping Ho Chi Minh City to further develop.
During the trip, the delegates visited the National Assembly building, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and offered incense and flowers to President Ho Chi Minh in Sen village in Nghe An province./.
