The activity aims to preserve and promote cultural values and traditional history, while encouraging residents in Son La province to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style.

The President Ho Chi Minh statue, cast with a height of 1.47 metres and a weight of some 900 kilograms, is an important part of the project on constructing the President Ho Chi Minh memorial house in Thuan Chau district.

When he was alive, President Ho Chi Minh paid great attention to and reserved special affection for northwestern groups. On May 7 th , 1959, Uncle Ho and a Governmental delegation visited northwestern residents in Thuan Chau district.

Thuan Chau platform, where Uncle Ho stood to talk with the residents, was recognized as a national historic relic in 1995. It has become a place for political and cultural activities and for teaching the revolutionary tradition and Uncle Ho’s example for generations in Thuan Chau district, contributing to maintaining and promoting the relic's historic and cultural values.

In 2015, Thuan Chau district began to build the President Ho Chi Minh memorial house, which is expected to be inaugurated this December./.
