The relic site began to be restored in May 2022. After nearly a year, under the attention of relevant ministries and sectors of the two sides, by March 2023, the entire restoration work was completed and the site officially opened to welcome tourists to visit and learn about the revolutionary tradition and special friendship between the two countries during the difficult war period.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Yunnan province Yang De Cong recalled the historical page of friendship when President Ho Chi Minh arrived in Kunming as the Secretary of the Vietnam Labor Party (February 1940), building a revolutionary base, training the key team to conduct revolutionary activities in Vietnam.
Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Affairs of Yunnan province Chen Rong Jie said that the inauguration and opening of doors for tourists to visit the relic site is a realization of the common agreement reached between the Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee (China) and the Secretaries of the four border provinces of Vietnam, as well as inheriting the revolutionary friendship between the two Parties and countries, promoting bilateral relations to continue to develop.
For his part, Consul General of Vietnam Hoang Minh Son thanked the relevant ministries and branches of the two sides for their interest in helping to facilitate the restoration of the relic site.
He highly appreciated the significance of the relic site and expressed his wish that the inauguration ceremony would mark a good start, contributing to creating a new impetus to promote the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Yunnan province to a new level./.
