On March 18-28, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai is visiting and working in Argentina.

At the meeting with the Communist Party of Argentina, Mr. Hai expressed his appreciation for the affection of Argentine friends for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. The Communist Party of Argentina regularly organizes talks and seminars about President Ho Chi Minh in order to evaluate Uncle Ho's contributions to the world revolutionary movement as well as summarize some lessons on his ideology.
During the complicated development of the pandemic, Argentina donated 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam. With the foundation of the traditional friendship and good cooperation between the two Parties and countries, he expressed his belief that Vietnam - Argentina relations, including the Ho Chi Minh City - Argentina relationship, would continue to develop.
In response, Head of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of Argentina, Mr. Jorge Kreyness, discussed in detail the issues that the delegation was interested in, such as the activities of the Marxist Education and Training Center, and the Party's mass mobilization work, and an increase in people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Argentina proposed to build a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at the headquarters of the Communist Party of Argentina with documents and images about his life, activities, thoughts and contributions. Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai agreed with this proposal; and conveyed the invitation of the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Argentina and the Party's leaders to visit and work in Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.
After that, Ho Chi Minh City’s delegation continued to work with the Argentinian Book Foundation and the Argentina - Vietnam Cultural Institute. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged experiences in forming and promoting the reading culture of the people. The Argentinean side shared experiences in organizing the annual international book fair, and the experience of being a candidate for the title of World Book Capital, which Buenos Aires was selected as in 2011.
At the meeting with the President of the Argentina-Vietnam Cultural Institute, Mrs. Poldi Sosa Schmidt, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai wished that the institute would promote more activities in Ho Chi Minh City and continue to be a reliable and effective bridge between Ho Chi Minh City and Argentina. Specifically, the institute can coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City to promote economic, trade, investment and tourism information of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general to the Argentinean business community and people.
