The book was researched, collected and compiled by author Tran Dinh Viet, who sketches a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh: kindness. This is the overarching feeling of all those who directly dialogued with Ho Chi Minh, even though they were different in age, status, political opinions, profession and skin color. Uncle Ho's kindness is the main theme throughout the work, the touching and humane stories of the leader and world cultural celebrity will surprise readers.
The book has more than 500 pages and includes two parts: The first part has about 40 pages of the author's essay; the second part collects 54 special stories by many famous authors at home and abroad.
After the analysis of kindness presented at the beginning of the book, the following content is the memories of those who met President Ho Chi Minh. They are heroes, soldiers, journalists, teachers, artists, adopted children, benefactors and comrades including generals, soldiers and politicians on other front lines.
The author selected representative stories from different times in Uncle Ho’s revolutionary activities, especially those who lived and worked with Ho Chi Minh for a long time like Vo Nguyen Giap and Pham Van Dong. The echoes of the stories linger forever. It is not a chant but a two-way relationship between the leader and the people, as well as between the people and the leader.
The work "Uncle Ho's Kindness" was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularization and Education in the contest "Creating and promoting literary and journalistic art works about "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style” in September 2023./.
