On January 18, Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam SaminaMehtab and a delegation of the Pakistani Embassy laid flowers and paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh in his mausoleum, starting activities to mark the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Pakistan (November 8).

Within the framework of the visit, Ambassador Mehtab was welcomed by Major General Bui Hai Son, Commander of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command, and Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Vietnam-Pakistan Friendship Parliamentary Group.
At the meeting, Major General Bui Hai Son greeted Ambassador SaminaMehtab and the delegation of the Pakistani Embassy, thanking them for taking the time to visit President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum. At the same time, the Commander of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command also introduced the history and activities of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador SaminaMehtab paid tribute to the legendary and revolutionary leader of Vietnam, the great President Ho Chi Minh. President Ho Chi Minh steadfastly led the Vietnamese people on the path of liberation and did not give up on his seemingly impossible journey. Among the statesmen of the 20th century, Ho Chi Minh was an outstanding leader in both persistence and perseverance in pursuing the goal of Vietnamese independence.
"Being intelligent, powerful and dedicated, Uncle Ho proved himself not only a leader of the people but also a winner,” she said. “He led the Vietnamese nation in the struggle for national independence. He not only said, but also proved by his actions, that 'There is nothing more precious than independence and freedom'”.
The Pakistani Ambassador also affirmed that Pakistan and Vietnam have always had a close relationship. The two countries have outstanding cooperation in different fields, especially in the fields of economy and trade. However, the cooperation is still not commensurate with the potential of the two countries.
Therefore, Pakistan attaches great importance to its relationship with Vietnam and wishes to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
For his part, Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Vietnam-Pakistan Friendship Parliamentary Group Nguyen Truong Giang expressed his belief that with the favorable development momentum and rich experiences of 50 years of exchange and cooperation, together with the joint efforts of both sides, the Vietnam-Pakistan friendship and cooperation will continue to make new and greater achievements, meeting the practical interests of the two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the world.
At the end of the ceremony, Pakistani Ambassador SaminaMehtab wrote in a guestbook at the Mausoleum. After that, Ambassador Mehtab and the delegation of the Embassy of Pakistan came to lay a wreath, visit the Mausoleum to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and visit the Presidential Palace relic./.
