The event follows the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh and aims to raise awareness among Party committees, government authorities, and the people of the district about the importance of planting trees to create green, clean, and beautiful landscapes and environments. Additionally, this initiative contributes to forest protection, increases forest coverage, and fosters a sense of responsibility for forest conservation while preserving cultural identity and promoting tourism, ultimately improving the quality of life for local residents.
This year, the district selected Ban Lang Commune for the tree-planting event due to the community’s strong commitment to forest conservation. Moreover, the resettlement area in Ban Lang 2 village (Ban Lang Commune) is home to residents from Na Vang and Ban Lang 2 villages who recently relocated from landslide-prone areas. Planting trees here and along several inter-field roads in Ban Lang Commune will significantly enhance the local landscape and living environment while accelerating the new rural development process in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mai Thi Hong Sim, Vice Chairman of the Phong Tho District People’s Committee, urged Party committees, government agencies, organizations, and socio-political groups to actively promote the purpose and significance of tree planting and forest conservation. She emphasized the need for localities, agencies, and units to organize tree planting activities in a practical, effective, and cost-efficient manner, avoiding superficial formalities.
Immediately after the ceremony, nearly 400 delegates, civil servants, public employees, and local residents participated in planting nearly 500 trees./.
