On August 23, the authorities of Tay Ho District in Hanoi held a ceremony to receive a certificate honouring the house as a national historical relic site.
The house was the first stop of President Ho Chi Minh on his trip from the Viet Bac resistance base back to Hanoi on August 23, 1945, after the success of the August Revolution, reported NDO.
During his stay at the house, President Ho worked with senior Party officials such as Truong Chinh, Vo Nguyen Giap, and Tran Dang Ninh and prepared for the Declaration of Independence, which marked the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The house has been well preserved with objects, documents, and images related to President Ho’s stay kept intact.
It has become a historical address to educate younger generations about the country’s revolutionary tradition.
An art programme was held following the ceremony, featuring songs and dances recalling President Ho Chi Minh’s journey to seek the means for national liberation.
The programme gathered the participation of nearly 200 artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Vietnam National Music Song and Dance Theatre, and the Vietnam Cai Luong (Reformed Opera) Theatre./.
