The construction of the monument started in June, 2022. The project is built in the compound of Chi Lang Border Post with a total investment of over VND 380 million, of which Dinh Lap district donated VND 100 million; agencies, units, and businesses contributed VND 200 million. The remaining came from the border post’s personnel. Troops of the border post also contributed more than 200 working days to complete the project.

The “Uncle Ho with border guards” bust is made of granite with a weight of nearly 5 tons, a height of 1.81m, a width of 1.37m. It is placed on a garito stone pedestal. The bust is sculptured based on Vu Trong Khoi’s “Following the nation” work, showing the image of Uncle Ho caringly giving instructions to a border guard.

The monument was built from June 2022 to August 2022, based on the prototype of the work by Vu Trong Khoi, showing the image of Uncle Ho graciously instructing a soldier of the armed people's police (now the Border Guard).

This project holds profound political and humanistic significance. It contributes to educating troops about national tradition and reminding them to always stay united, build a strong and comprehensive unit, and be determined to firmly protect border area of the country./.
