Bac Giang: Over 1.5 million trees planted in gratitude to Uncle Ho

The move aims to respond to the tree-planting festival during Tet holiday in gratitude to Uncle Ho and the program of planting 1 billion trees launched by the Prime Minister.

This year, all districts, Bac Giang City, 12 departments and branches in the province built plans and sent them to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Of these, 8 districts, including Tan Yen, Lang Giang, Yen Dung, Yen The, Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Hiep Hoa, Viet Yen and Bac Giang City organized ceremonies to launch the festival.

At the launch ceremonies, localities and units planted more than 43,800 trees of all kinds, including forestry, shade and fruit trees. The whole province had more than 1,100 ha of concentrated forest newly planted, an increase of 14 ha over the same period last year, reaching 15.6% of the year’s plan.

During the events, localities and units popularized, educated, and raised awareness about the role and meaning of tree planting, afforestation, forest protection and ecological environment protection./.
