Carrying out diverse activities to care for labourers, the trade union of the Long Rich Vietnam Co., Ltd in Linh Trung No. 2 export processing zone in Ho Chi Minh city’s Thu Duc district has been praised as an outstanding unit in studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings.
Over the past 10 days, in the dining room of the company, trade union members have donated over VND19 million for scholarship funds. This is one way the company’s trade union cares for labourers.
Only being established in 2016, the trade union has made great efforts to be recognized as an excellent trade union marked by diverse activities caring for its members and labourers.
During the previous lunar New Year festival, the trade union executive committee made a survey collecting workers’ ideas to choose adequate presents for their families, thus seeking good quality goods with more reasonable prices as presents. The amount of money gained from buying goods at more reasonable prices was used to organize meetings with workers and art performances, as well as providing practical awards, including fridges, washing machines, bicycles, phones and rice cookers to workers.
The company’s trade union led in the movement “Safe rice for workers”, launched by the trade union of the Ho Chi Minh city Export Processing and Industrial Zone Authority (Hepza), as it realized that the movement benefited workers. Accordingly, workers only had to pay money for the rice when they received salary. Each week, workers register to buy nearly 1 ton of rice.
Another deed of great significance is to provide transport tickets for the workers to go home for lunar New Year festival (Tet). Each year, 300 workers go home for Tet on charitable coaches after receiving best wishes from the company’s trade union leaders.
During International Women’s Day (March 8 th ), apart from giving presents to all female workers, the trade union comes to boarding houses of 30 disadvantaged female workers to visit and presents gifts to them. In addition, the trade union regularly encourages its members to donate money for seriously ill workers or workers’ children, as well as for victims of natural disasters in the central region./.
