The Secretariat concluded, after more than 7 years of implementing Conclusion 29, the purchase and reading of newspapers and magazines of the Party have achieved remarkable results. Awareness of officials and party members on the role, significance and importance of newspapers and magazines has been continuously improved.
Many party organizations and party members have bought and read newspapers and magazines of the Party. The movement of reading and following newspapers and magazines of the Party is maintained and developed. The inspection and urgig of the purchase and reading of newspapers and magazines of the Party are conducted regularly.
The quality of the Party's newspapers and magazines has been improved, the content and format of the newspapers and magazines continue to be renewed; the publication of newspapers and magazines of the Party has many positive changes.
Besides, the Secretariat also pointed out some limitations and shortcomings such as the purchasing and reading of the Party’s newspapers and magazines by Party organizations and party members have not been implemented regularly and effectively.
The newspapers and magazines of the Party have not timely met readers’ increasing information needs. Funds for purchasing the newspapers and magazines have not been sufficiently allocated or have been used for improper purposes. The publication of the newspapers and magazines sometimes has not been timely or complete.
The Secretariat has requested party committees, administrations, Fatherland Front committees, socio-political organizations and press agencies of the Party to pay attention to continuously implement Directive 11 by the Politburo (8th term) such as raising awareness of the role and significance of the Party's newspapers and magazines to help officials, party members and the people improve their political argument levels, applying knowledge to production and life; encourage patriotic emulation movements; and consolidate the great unity bloc of the entire nation.
Officials and party members, especially leaders at all levels, must be an example for reading and following newspapers and magazines of the Party.
However, the party press must continue to renew and improve the quality to meet the demand of the officials, party members and people, as well as strengthening the application of information technology in publishing and delivering publications./.
