The Sen village Singing Festival officially opened on May 17th, in Vinh city in the central province of Nghe An, with the participation of more than 800 performers from 26 artistic troupes from provinces and cities across the country.
The festival, co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Nghe An provincial People’s Committee, is an activity in the framework of Sen village festival 2015 and celebration of the 125th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth.
The annual event aims to show deep gratitude and respect of people around the country to beloved Uncle Ho, the hero of national liberation and great man of culture.
The festival includes diverse cultural activities such as flower offerings at Uncle Ho’s statue in Ho Chi Minh square, a parade to Uncle Ho’s homeland and an incense offering to Uncle Ho at his memorial at the Kim Lien relic site.
In addition, film screenings about the life of Uncle Ho and exchanges with artists and film makers at Vinh University and in Nam Dan district and an exhibition on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example will be organised./.
