According to Vietnamese records, a portrait of the President Ho Chi Minh made of thousands of white and pink lotuses was displayed on May 17th at Dai Tue pagoda, Nam Dan district, the central province of Nghe An.
This activity marked the 125th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19th, 1890 - May 19th, 2015).
The 4x6 metre-sized portrait was placed on a 1m-high steel pedestal. It is expected to be one of the highlights of the upcoming 2015 Buddha’s birthday festival.
The idea of implementing a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh made from lotus and placed aside Dai Tue Buddha on the peak of Dai Hue Mountain has been nursed by the Superior Buddhist monk and followers for a long time. The dream has come true, contributing to the expression of Buddhist nuns and followers’, respect and admiration of beloved Uncle Ho and Buddha.
It is hoped that the portrait will be recognized as the biggest lotus-made picture in the world by the Guinness World Records on May 17th./.
