A workshop entitled “Uncle Ho with Hai Phong” was held by the City Union of Science and Technology on October 20 to mark the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh returning from France and transitting to Ngu station (now Hoang Dieu Port, Hai Phong City).

Addressing the workshop, Dr. Hoang Van Ke, President of the City Union of Science and Technology, said that it was honour for Hai Phong to welcome Uncle Ho 9 times. “His special attention and considerate instruction to the Party Committee and the people of the city is a valuable spiritual heritage, a light to illuminate the way for the process of liberation, construction and protection of the city, and is a great encouragement for Hai Phong City to continue to develop steadily,” he said.
According to Dr. Hoang Van Ke, the organization of the workshop will contribute to the research of scientists so that the city can continue to promote the great values of Ho Chi Minh's thought in the period of construction and development of the city today, and is an opportunity for the younger generation to understand more about Uncle Ho, and about Uncle Ho's affection for the port city.
Deputy Head of the Hai Phong City Party Committee Commission on Popularization and Education Nguyen Kim Pha noted that President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings for Hai Phong City highlighted the city’s position, which needed to boost harmonious development of economy and culture, build authority and promote national great unity.
Speaking at the workshop, Pham Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the City Agencies Bloc Party Committee, said that studying and following the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh to the Party Committee and people of Hai Phong City is very meaningful work, because President Ho Chi Minh is a man who always understands the position of Hai Phong's strategy for the revolutionary movement of the whole country under the leadership of the Party.
He clarified that responding to President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts and feelings, cadres, Party members, soldiers and people of Hai Phong City, in every period, tried their best to carry out his teachings and achieved important results in their revolutionary process, building the country and making important achievements in defense, security, economy and society./.
