A ceremony was held on March 28 to launch the campaign "All people exercise to follow great Uncle Ho’s example" in the 2021-2030 period and respond to Olympic Run Day for the entire people's health in 2021 in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Gymnastics and Sports, affirmed that the campaign "All people exercise to follow great Uncle Ho’s example" in the 2012-2020 period made an important contribution to raising awareness of the meaning, role and effects of physical training and sports in protecting and improving health, stature, and improving the quality of people's life. For the campaign in the period of 2021-2030 to achieve a positive effect, all levels and sectors should continue to pay attention to the development of sports and physical training, especially basic sports.
Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that over the recent years, this meaningful movement has been paid attention by the city authorities, facilities have been promoted, and major events on sports are more and more diversified and many people in the city have actively participated.
At the event, 1,200 students from schools in the city participated in the vibrant vovinam martial music performance. The activity responding to the Olympic Run Day took place right after that, with more than 5,000 participants.
On this occasion, the organizing committee also presented awards to collectives and individuals with high achievements in the implementation of the safe swimming and drowning prevention program in the 2016-2020 period, and individual and collectives with high achievements in the implementation of the campaign "All people exercise to follow great Uncle Ho’s example" in the period of 2012-2020 in Ho Chi Minh City./.
