Political activists in Latin America pay tribute to Uncle Ho in Mexico

The event was attended by political activists from Chile, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia as well as representatives from the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) - Mexico’s ruling party, and officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in the country.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Hoanh Nam said that President Ho Chi Minh is a national liberation hero, a great man of culture, and a model communist, who devoted his whole life to the national freedom not only of Vietnam but of all suppressed countries around the world.

According to the ambassador, Vietnam has organized various activities in June to mark the 110th anniversary of President Ho leaving the country to travel around the world in search of ways to secure national salvation (June 5, 1911-2021).

He thanked the administration of Mexico City for arranging a special place for the statue, expressing the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Mexico.

The Vietnamese diplomat thanked international friends and lovers of peace and freedom around the world for their warm sentiments and support for Vietnam in its past struggles for national independence and its ongoing national construction and development efforts.

First Secretary for External Relations of Morena Martha Garcia Alvarado said that Morena and Mexico consider President Ho Chi Minh a mirror in the fight for democracy and the interests of the people./.
