 The attainment reporting ceremony, in celebration of the 25th founding anniversary of the force (August 28, 1998 - 2023), was chaired by Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, reported PANO.

The delegation pays tribute to Late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.

The delegation included leaders of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command’s affiliates, 25 role models of the force, and trainees with outstanding results obtained at the Coast Guard Training Center.

At the event, delegates paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh and expressed deep gratitude for his great contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

On behalf of the coast guard force, Lt. Gen. Bui Quoc Oai reviewed the force’s accomplishments over the past 25 years. He emphasized that in any periods, circumstances, generations of Vietnamese coast guards have promoted the heroic traditions and the good virtues of the Vietnam People’s Army, upheld self-reliance spirit, heightened vigilance, bravery, sense of responsibility, flexibility, creativity, overcome numerous difficulties and challenges, stayed united, and achieved excellent feats-of-arms and outcomes.

According to the official, the coast guard force has closely followed situational developments at sea and on islands, given timely suggestions to the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense to issue policies to effectively handle situations. The coast guard agencies and units have well exercised laws at sea, safeguarded national maritime sovereignty, prevented crimes and violations of laws, rescued hundreds of distressed fishermen and trawlers, and paid the way for fishermen to hold on to the open sea and go fishing offshore.

With their achievements, coast guard troops and their units, agencies have been honored with numerous noble titles and orders. Notably, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command was awarded the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” in 2015. Most recently, on August 21, the force was presented with the Second-class Feat-of-Arms Order by the State President in recognition of its outstanding feat-of-arms in drug crime prevention and control, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety in the country.

At the event, the coast guard troops promised to continue promoting solidarity, further train, uphold political stance, revolutionary ethics and qualities, hone professional expertise, and build a revolutionary, regular, elite and modernized coast guard force to meet the Fatherland protection task requirement in the current context./.
