Uncle Ho’s birthday marked in Russia

The meeting was held by the Vietnamese Consulate General in Russia’s Vladivostok in collaboration with the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association.

Addressing the meeting, Vietnamese Consul General to Vladivostok Nguyen Hoang Viet confirmed that President Ho Chi Minh had not only devoted his whole life for national liberation, but also for humankind’s struggle for peace worldwide and for friendship among nations.

He also confirmed that the great President had laid the foundation and taken great pains in building the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Soviet Union earlier and the Russian Federation at present.

“The inauguration of President Ho Chi Minh’s statue in Vladivostok in early July is one of the outstanding events this year, when Vietnam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Vietnam will be held,” he added.

During the meeting, representatives from universities, the Vietnamese Association in Primorye province, overseas Vietnamese in Russia and Russian students, expressed their affection for Uncle Ho, read his poems and presented flowers to commemorate him.

On May 19th, the staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Vladivostok laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh commemorative site in the Vladivostok railway station./.
