The event, held on November 23, aims to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - 2024).
The exhibition displays 20 standard frames introducing five stamp collections by five collectors from HCMC, Can Tho City, An Giang and Kien Giang provinces themed “VPA and the Fatherland’s seas and islands”. In addition, the exhibition also displays three collections of revolutionary souvenirs by three young collectors from HCMC, Binh Phuoc and Kien Giang Provinces themed “Heroic Vietnam People’s Army”.
According to Mr. Hoang Anh Thi, Chairman of Viet Stamp Club and Head of the organizers, each postage stamp and revolutionary relic displayed at this exhibition is an ambassador conveying meaningful messages about patriotism and gratitude to generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence of the nation. The exhibition contributes to the development of the stamp and revolutionary relic collecting movement, to spread the special values and significance of postage stamps, souvenirs and collection culture to the community.
This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the founding of Viet Stamp Club (November 20, 2007 - 2024).
On this occasion, Viet Stamp Club launched the stamp and revolutionary souvenir collecting group named "Sao Do" which gathers young collectors with a passion for the revolutionary tradition; launched envelopes and stamps themed “Forever worthy of being Uncle Ho’s soldiers”.
Representatives of young collectors also presented souvenirs to the Southeastern Armed Forces Museum. The Viet Stamp Club also launched the committee for younger members to develop the stamp collecting movement among young people./.
