Speaking at the ceremony held on May 19, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Mai Phuoc Dung expressed his gratitude for the legacies that President Ho Chi Minh left. He emphasized that generations of descendants, especially the young generation in Singapore, need to constantly study, practice and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, contributing to building the strong country of Vietnam and joining      hands to further promote relations between Vietnam and Singapore.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Vu Minh Khuong from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy under the National University of Singapore, shared that overseas Vietnamese like him always appreciate President Ho Chi Minh's wish for Vietnam to stand proudly as an equal to major powers across all five continents, that is what motivates every Vietnamese person.

He affirmed the Party and Government's great efforts in mobilizing and encouraging overseas Vietnamese to contribute to the country, but it needs to be innovated in the coming time such as calling upon people to contribute initiatives to solve specific problems, from drought and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta, to innovation in small- and medium-sized enterprises, e-government and so on; building institutions to motivate everyone to contribute to developing the country, both overseas Vietnamese and people in the country; and it is necessary to summarize what has been done and what has not been done after each meeting with overseas Vietnamese and supporters of the country to draw on experiences and urge each other to build the country more effectively./.
