Leader pays homage to Uncle Ho in official visit to Cuba

The delegation's wreath bore the words that President Ho Chi Minh's great thought and career live forever.

Attending the incense offering ceremony were Politburo member and Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa, and members of the high level delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam.

Remembering the great President Ho Chi Minh and his great merits, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his emotion and pride to visit the President Ho Chi Minh Monument, a symbol of friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba, in the capital Havana.

Ho Chi Minh Monument in Hoa Binh Park, Havana, was inaugurated on May 19, 2003 on the occasion of the 113th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday. The monument was designed by Architect Joel Diaz, Vice President of the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association.

Writing in a guestbook at the memorial site, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that being faithful to his ideals and teachings, the whole Vietnamese Party, people and army were determined to unite to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam, making a worthy contribution to the world revolutionary cause, and constantly fostering the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese State President also thanked the authorities and people of Havana, Nuevovedado District and Acapulco Street residents for always paying special attention and caring for the monument of President Ho Chi Minh./.
