This event, which was held on October 8, aims to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989- 2024).
Speaking at the seminar, Colonel Nguyen Trung Dac, Political Commissar of Division 316, said that Uncle Ho’s soldiers is the lovely name that Vietnamese people use to call officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army. Uncle Ho’s soldiers have good qualities in terms of morality and culture of Vietnamese people in the new era. The title Uncle Ho’s soldiers is a unique military cultural feature that helps enrich the cultural values of the nation over the past eight decades, deserving to be nominated as a national intangible cultural heritage.
He also highlighted the column named “Forum on Uncle Ho’s soldiers title - Deserving to be national intangible cultural heritage” opened by the PAN since July this year.
The forum has attracted dozens of articles by experts, scientists, generals and reputable artists, helping readers have a comprehensive view on the good traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army, typical characteristics of the virtue and personality of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, he added.
During the workshop, participants clarified basic qualities that make the values of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, the meaning of the title in honing the revolutionary servicemen’s virtues and in performing political tasks of units; positive impacts of the title on preserving and promoting Uncle Ho’s soldiers’ traditions and qualities in Division 316; positive values of the title and the possibility of submitting a dossier to higher levels for recognition of this noble title as an element of national intangible cultural heritage.
The seminar helped participants have a deep and comprehensive view on the significance and value of the “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” title, as well as activities of Division 316’s troops in promoting the title and spreading the heroic unit’s good traditions.
Opinions of the participants and results of the seminar would be a good foundation for the suggestion to recognize the title as national intangible cultural heritage./.
