President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Hai Duong Province marked

This was an important political event, an occasion for the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hai Duong to show respect to President Ho Chi Minh, thereby encouraging and motivating cadres, Party members and people in the province to promote the strength of solidarity, step up patriotic emulation movements, and successfully complete the set goals and tasks.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, recalled the five times Uncle Ho visited Hai Duong. In which, President Ho Chi Minh was interested in recognizing and encouraging the achievements of the people in the province such as the feat of Kim Thanh guerrilla platoon, the movement for good irrigation in Hiep Luc and Hong Thai Communes, Ninh Giang District.

Recalling historical memories, Secretary Thang said that 60 years ago, the Party Committee and people of Hai Duong entered the second year of implementing the 5-year plan to strive for comprehensive and solid agricultural development, actively consolidating and accelerating the movement of agricultural co-operation.

However, in the 1962 crop, agricultural production in the province faced many difficulties due to flooding, especially in the southern districts of the province. To encourage people to overcome difficulties, on July 26, 1962, President Ho Chi Minh visited Hai Duong.

He emphasized that although Uncle Ho had gone far, he left behind very valuable legacies. To express his infinite gratitude for Uncle Ho's special affections for the Hai Duong Province, Secretary Thang suggested that the province continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, constantly taking care of and improving the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people./.
