On April 27, the Hanoi City People's Committee held a meeting to honour the results of the emulation movement in 2022; and launch the peak emulation round to organize activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for patriotic emulation" (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023).

According to the City People's Committee, in 2022 and the first 4 months of 2023, Hanoi organized many emulation movements from the city to the grassroots levels, achieving important and comprehensive results in all fields.
Specifically, the economy overcame difficulties, recovered and grew strongly after the COVID-19 pandemic; economic structure continued to shift towards modernity; development investment capital and attraction of foreign direct investment increased; total import and export turnover of goods increased; and tourism strongly recovered as Hanoi received the World's Leading City Tourist Destination Award in 2022.
Administrative reform created many highlights. In 2022, the city's administrative reform index ranked 3rd out of 63 provinces and centrally-run cities, up 7 places compared to 2021.
Political security, stable social order and defense was strengthened. The work of building and rectifying the Party, building a socialist rule of law state and political system continued to be promoted. The status and prestige of the capital was enhanced.
Emulation movements have closely followed the political tasks associated with "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example", arousing the will and aspiration to rise up of cadres, Party members and the people. Typical are the movements "Vietnamese enterprises integrate and develop"; the movement "cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers emulate the implementation of office and public places culture"; and the movement on building new rural areas.
Through emulation movements, many typical examples have been discovered.
At the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh suggested that all cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees and labourers promote their intelligence, responsibility, solidarity, discipline, and creativity to actively emulate and overcome difficulties and challenges, striving to complete and exceed the goals, targets and work tasks in 2023; and effectively implement Plan 102 dated March 24, 2023 of the City People's Committee on organizing activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation./.
