President Ho Chi Minh in Vietnamese, Laos young generations’ hearts

In a conversation with VNA reporters in Laos, teachers and students at the school expressed their love for the leader who devoted his life to fighting for national independence, freedom and the happiness of the Vietnamese people.

The Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school often organises extracurricular activities on major holidays of Vietnam and Laos.

VNA reported that Teng Xaileexiong, a teacher at the school, said such activities aim to help students understand more about the relationship between Laos and Vietnam and to preserve and strengthen this relationship. Every year, on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, in addition to lessons at their classrooms, students also visit libraries to read books and participate in other activities to learn more about the beloved leader of the Vietnam and inspire them follow his simple and shining moral example.

As a student who has joined in drawing contests about Uncle Ho for many years, Pham Truong Thien An, a 12th grader, said that he is a symbol of noble beauty and endless tolerance. When drawing a picture of Uncle Ho, An wanted people to feel his gentle and benevolent face and understand more about Vietnam.

Monthaphone Inthalangsy, a Lao student, said she hopes to continue her study in Vietnam after graduation so she can share knowledge about the rich culture of Vietnam. For her, this is also a way to contribute to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

According to rector of the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, through interactions during classes and extracurricular activities, Vietnamese and Lao students gain a better understanding of each other's cultures, learn more about the people and country of Vietnam, and thus spread their love for their homeland. In particular, teaching students about President Ho Chi Minh and his great contributions to the special Vietnam-Laos relationship will help them recognise the importance of preserving, nurturing and developing the relationship between the two countries, as they are the future generation./.
