Overseas Vietnamese in Russia’s Vladivostok offer flowers to President Ho Chi Minh

The delegates placed fresh flowers at the foot of Uncle Ho's statue and spent a minute of silence to express their gratitude and respect to President Ho Chi Minh, who made great contributions to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He is also the one who laid the foundation for the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Ho Chi Minh monument in Vladivostok city was inaugurated on July 5, 2019 after 5 years of construction and after tireless efforts of three Consuls General of Vietnam in Vladivostosk.

The monument is 2.3m high, placed in a solemn position in the flower garden on Borishenko Street. The author of the statue is Russian sculptor Peter Chegodaev.

On the same day, the Consulate General organised a ceremony to mark Vietnam’s National Day.

Speaking at the ceremony, Consul General of Vietnam to Vladivostok Nguyen Hoang Viet highlighted the great significance of National Day (September 2).

President Ho Chi Minh was a great leader, a national hero who devoted all his life to the national independence and freedom and happiness of the people while tirelessly striving for peace and progress in the world./.
