Representatives from embassies of Latin American and Middle Eastern countries in Hanoi led by Mr. Jorge Rondón Uzcátegui, Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam, on December 17th laid a wreath and paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.

The activity aimed to commemorate Latin American liberation hero Simon Bolívar, mark the 187th year since his death, and show affection and respect for President Ho Chi Minh – the founder and developer of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the great leader of the Vietnamese nation.
The homage also helped reinforce the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Latin American countries.
Simon Bolívar (1783 – 1830), famous Venezuelan revolutionist, was the leader of movement for national independence in Southern America in the early 19th century. He led struggles overthrowing the dominance of Spain, gaining independence for 6 current countries of Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia./.
