The conference was held by the Institute of Asian and African Studies under Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU), Research Centre of Vietnam and ASEAN under the Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FEB RAS), and the Faculty of Political Science under Vietnam’s University of Social Science and Humanities (USSH) in the framework of Vietnam - Russia Cross Friendship Year.
The event attracted a large number of researchers and scholars from throughout the Russian Federation, Russian students learning Vietnamese and Russian friends who love Vietnam and admire the personality, thought and cause of President Ho Chi Minh.
More than 10 presentations given at the conference focused on deep research about Ho Chi Minh’s cause and thought; his role for the victory of Vietnam’s revolution; influence of Ho Chi Minh’s thought for construction of the state of law in Vietnam; and Ho Chi Minh’s role in creating and building the state under the new political model as well as in founding the Communist Party of Vietnam
The representations also analyzed Ho Chi Minh's cause and thought as a great international revolutionist and an international cultural activist.
Speaking on the sidelines of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quoc Thanh, Deputy Head of USSH’s Faculty of Political Science, highly appreciated the practical meaning of the presentations and added that all scientific research about Ho Chi Minh’s cause and thought will be collected and printed in a book in English named “Ho Chi Minh in Vietnamese and global retrospectives”.
Apart from the research value, the book will be a document to help international friends better understand President Ho Chi Minh and his thoughts, as well as introduce the country of Vietnam to international friends, Vietnam’s diplomatic guideline is always built based the thought of great national unity of President Ho Chi Minh.
Mr. Thanh also highly appreciated the organization of the conference in Vietnam - Russia Cross Friendship Year, and considered it a shining expression of the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
Prof. Dr. Vladimir Mazyrin, leader of the Research Center of Vietnam and ASEAN under FEB RAS, also highly appreciated the first common cooperation between USSH’s Faculty of Political Science and Institute of Asian and African Studies
He also emphasized the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh for the friendship and cooperation between two countries. He added that the documents introduced in Russia showed that Ho Chi Minh’s life and cause are always research topics of many scientists.
In the framework of the conference, the organizing board also displayed books about Vietnam and ASEAN in Russian and English published by FEB RAS’s Research Center of Vietnam and ASEAN./.
